Wrinkle creams don't work…..botox does!

A program of botox cosmetic can take years off your appearance, making you look refreshed and more youthful after only a single treatment. A purified protein, botox is injected into facial muscles that form wrinkles on your face. Botox relaxes them and allows your body to repair the damaged skin.

Treatements only take about 20 minutes to perform and last up to 4 months. Repeat treatments are necessary for best effect and you can expect lines to improve gradually over several months.

Questions about Botox:

How can you tell if botox will work on my wrinkles?
A detailed examination will assess which wrinkles and lines bother you. Through this process and using expert knowledge of anatomy we can decide whether your lines are caused by muscles into which botox can be safely injected.

Is there anyone who can't use botox?
Yes, women who are pregnant or nursing, persons on blood thinners and persons with certain nervous system diseases should not use botox.

How is botox injected and does it hurt?
Botox is injected with a tiny, very sharp needle directly into the muscle responsible for your lines and wrinkles. We can be very precise in knowing exactly where the botox will go and what muscle it selectively weakens. There is a slight pick as the needle is inserted in some patients but the discomfort is over instantly with no residual pain after the treatment.

How often do I need to be treated with botox?
Ideally you should be treated every three months in the first year to allow your lines to heal to their maximal potential. After a year every 4-5 months would be the norm.

What do I do when my botox wears off?
You will start to notice wrinkles starting to reform near the end of your botox's effectiveness. They will not be as prominent as before but will eventually reform if you wait too long for your next treatment. Simply call and make an appointment for your touch up.

Does botox take my wrinkles away instantly?
No, but this is a good thing. You will notice your botox starting to take effect over 3-14 days and your lines will slowly fade. This gives you a gradual improvement and no one will ever guess you've have anything done.

Will I miss work or leisure time after a treatment?
Absolutely not. Usually people return to usual activities immediately after a treatment. You should avoid exercise, strenuous work and manipulating the area for a few hours after treatment.
