Ambulatory phlebectomy
Simple, Safe, Effective
Ambulatory phlebectomy is an outpatient, minor surgical procedure performed under local anesthesia to remove varicose veins. It can be used to remove any visible vein but certain areas are more common. These include the hands and forearms, ankles and feet, and upper thighs.
Advantages over sclerotherapy are that it leaves does not produce any lumpiness (temporarily seen in some patients after sclerotherapy ) and no staining of the skin.
Incisions are only 1-2 mm and are essentially invisible once healed. Within a few weeks the cosmetic result is excellent and permanent.
