Sclerotherapy involves the injection of chemicals into the vein that irritate and close the vein permanently. Here at SSVC we are experts in all forms of sclerotherapy . We offer standard liquid sclerotherapy for smaller varicose, reticular and spider veins as well as foam and image guided foam sclerotherapy for larger varicose veins. Our team will decide whether or not you are a good candidate for any of these options.
Sclerotherapy is extremely safe but has a few complications and side effects that will be discussed with you in detail before your treatments.
Common minor complications (all temporary and not dangerous)
Bruising, discoloration of skin, clotting of vein branches, phlebitis (lumpy tender veins)
